Free event? Free to use.
Running a free event on Tixi is free. It costs you nothing to create
and manage free events, nor does it cost your guest anything to RSVP to
the event.
Selling tickets?
If you are managing an event where you are selling tickets, Tixi
applies a booking fee. We do this to cover credit card processing fees
as well as make a small profit. The booking fee Tixi applies is:
2.4% + $1.50 x 1.1 (GST)
Tixi gives you two different ways to accommodate this fee. You can
choose to charge the booking fee on top of your ticket price, or
incorporate it into your ticket price.
For example, let's say you are running an event where tickets are $30.
With the booking fee on top your guest would pay $32.44. You would
receive the full $30 and your guest would cover the $2.44 booking fee.
If you choose to absorb the booking fee, your guest would purchase a
$30 ticket and not be aware of any booking fees. You would receive
$27.66 and Tixi would hold the remaining $2.44 booking fee.

Finally, we have an even
better deal for charities
- we pay you to run your event with us.
How We Make Money
Like any business, we (and the tax department) do have to make a bit
of money. We make this in the form of booking fees on paid tickets.
This booking fee covers our system, as well as the credit card
processing fees. There's nothing hidden.
We put a lot of effort into getting the balance right, and keeping
our fees as small as possible.
